  Angela frowned. “Do you think she slept with them?”

  “No. But they want her.” Chloe sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. “And as much as they can be assholes, I think that she’d be good for them. They need to learn how to start thinking about people other than themselves. That’s a lot to put on Miriam, though. Especially with everything else on her plate.”

  Angela had to agree on that one. She grabbed another game just so it wouldn’t look suspicious, and she and Chloe headed back out. As they ate their goodies and played the game, she kept shooting glances at Miriam. She deserved to find someone to love. She was always giving and giving… it was high time she got something back.

  She probably deserved better than having to put in the emotional labor of getting Kristoff and Lucas to stop being assholes, though. Roman and Omar were pretty nice, maybe she’d be better off with them… or maybe not with any of the wolf shifters of Devil Mountain.

  Her phone made a dinging noise and she glanced at it to see a picture sent from Tyler. Max was holding the babies, his head lolled to one side as the three of them slept. Warmth filled Angela’s chest at the sight. Her men and her babies. She had never thought she’d get to this point in her life and yet here she was. She had them and she was never going to lose them.

  “Hey, no phones,” Miriam scolded, and Angela put it away.

  “You know what’s funny?” Angela said. “If you told me a year ago that I’d have two sexy baby daddies and two wonderful little babies, I’d never have believed you. I probably would have cried myself to sleep thinking I’d never have even half that much. But here I am now.” She met Miriam’s eye. “We all get what we work toward eventually. Sometimes it just means taking a risk.”

  Miriam smirked and rose her champagne glass. “Here’s to risks, then. May we all be brave enough to take them and not end up with those risks biting us in the ass.”

  “Hear, hear!” All the glasses clinked together, and they returned to their merriment. Angela drank her champagne, smiling to herself. It was true. If she had never taken the risk of signing up to be a surrogate, if she had never taken the risk to be with Tyler and Max, none of her dreams would have come true.

  But she had and now she had everything she’d always dreamed of and more.
